AMPS Awareness Dish
This piece is a jewelry dish. It is a slab/pinch pot made with black underglaze. The quote on it says "Pain may affect you, but don't let it change you." I have struggled with AMPS for 3 years and most people aren't aware that it exists. I decided to use this jewelry bowl to bring awareness to a tough condition. This was my first piece of the semester.
Dish for your Dish
This piece is a hand-built slab covered in black underglaze with the name "Moorman" carved into it. This was my second piece of the semester. It is a mini charcuterie board meant for holding small amounts of meat, cheese, and crackers. I made this piece because my favorite family dish is my mom's charcuterie boards, but I hate the germiness of sharing one big board with my family. Therefore, I made a small one. I plan to make more small ones so that my whole family can have their own.
Discover Your Path
This is my entire "Discover Your Path" project. My main objective was to make a set of bowls for my new dog, Callie. Despite the new, I also wanted to celebrate some of the old traditions held by my family, like our charcuterie boards we make on Sundays. I made a slab for the charcuterie board, and threw 2 bowls for the set. My cohesive quality was the color scheme. I used light pink, chartreuse, and different shades of blue. I used underglaze before bisque firing, and a clear glaze afterwards before the glaze fire. This was my second to last collection in the semester.
